Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) is Bath’s local air ambulance service. They pride themselves in being able to give an extra level of care to Bath and other communities.
Through their helicopter and two critical care cars, their team of doctors and specialist paramedics – all highly trained and able to administer lifesaving interventions at the scene of an incident – provide emergency care to those most in need.
By getting to the patient quickly, bringing the skills and equipment of the Emergency Department to the scene, their specialist teams are able to ‘stop the clock’ for the most critically ill and injured. GWAAC’s clinicians are able to carry out a range of complex interventions at the roadside, in the local high street, or in a living room, before taking the patient to the hospital that is best suited to their needs.
