Voted best dressed chalet in 2016, Kananda will once again be lighting up the corner of York Street and Abbey Churchyard with their well-loved brand of Paper Starlights lanterns. With mesmerising brilliance and a warm, atmospheric glow, Paper Starlights capture the essence of the festive season and have featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs programme.

Kananda’s chalet has a lively, festive environment, bringing together an inspiring selection of products from India and the UK’s South West – all sharing a common heritage: they are personally and fairly traded, artist designed, handmade, and of the highest quality.

Each Paper Starlight is individually handmade by a family business in Western India and has been fairly traded since 1996. This year, look out for a new addition to the brand – an exquisite collection of hand-cut filigree lanterns, artistry in paper launched exclusively at Bath Christmas Market.

From Somerset, select from an extensive range of hand-finished ceramic drawer knobs, fairly traded by Wappa of Langport.  Beautifully glossy, brightly coloured and tactile, these vibrant pieces of ceramic art will brighten up an unloved cabinet and are a delight to mix and match.

From Devon, cosy up to a stylish collection of faux fur hats, headbands, scarves and hot water bottles by Helen Moore, designed and hand-made in the village of Witheridge.

An array of colour as the winter light fades, Kananda’s chalet invites you to get festive beneath the warm glow of Starlight against the magnificent backdrop of Bath Abbey.
