Cwmdare! You’d be hard pressed to find it on any map, yet it was in this ex-mining village situated within a small blind-end valley in South Wales that on a crisp spring evening in 2015, a small ensemble of women gathered around a borrowed piano in the village’s only pub with great anticipation. With guidance from Musical Director, Llinos Davies, lyric sheets were gripped tightly and 27 ladies bravely embarked on an unknown journey as they vocally ventured into bringing alive this newly formed all-female community choir.
