Thinking of a visit to Bath Christmas Market for the first time? We've compiled a list of our top 10 questions to make your trip as easy as possible.
1. When is Bath Christmas Market?
Bath Christmas Market is open from Thursday 28th November until Sunday 15th December (inclusive). Our opening hours are:
Monday - Wednesday, 10am - 7pm
Thursday - Saturday, 10am - 8pm
Sunday, 10am - 6pm
2. Where is Bath Christmas Market?
Bath Christmas Market is, as the name suggests, situated in the picturesque World Heritage City of Bath, in South-West England. The Christmas Market chalets span a majority of the city's main shopping areas, including around Bath Abbey, Union Street, and Milsom Street.
3. Do I need a ticket?
No, Bath Christmas Market is completely free, making it the perfect way to soak up the festive atmosphere with your friends, family and loved ones.
4. Can I bring my dog?
As this is an open-air event, you can bring dogs on-site. However, we would recommend leaving your pets at home on the weekend. The streets can get extremely busy which can be overwhelming for dogs, so we advise bringing your dogs during the quieter, mid-week periods.
5. What is the best way to travel?
Bath is a small but busy city, so we really advise using public transport or the Park and Ride services where possible. You can find our recommendations here.
6. When is the best time to visit?
Bath Christmas Market is a magical place to visit regardless of when you come. However, the weekends tend to get quite busy so if you are looking for a calmer experience, we'd recommend either a lunchtime or Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. If you get here and find the crowds overwhelming then Bath Central Library, Bath Abbey, and St Michaels Within Church are offering quiet spaces for visitors to escape the hustle and bustle.
7. Which stallholders are going to be there?
Over the 18 days, we're going to be joined by over 200 different stallholders, most of whom are there every day. You can find a full list of who is joining us here.
8. Where is there to eat and drink at the market?
We have an abundance of caterers on site serving a range of food for most tastes and dietary requirements. It also wouldn't be a Christmas Market without a mulled beverage so there are plenty of places to pick up a festive tipple to enjoy whilst you're wandering around. If you are looking for a place to sit down and have a meal or a drink then most of Bath's City Centre pubs, bars, and restaurants are just a stone's throw away.
9. Will the market be cancelled if it's raining?
Bath Christmas Market is an all-weather event, so as long as it's safe for us to operate, we will be going ahead. In the unlikely event that we have to shut the market for weather or any other reason, we'll give out more information at the time.
10. I'm not going to make it to Bath whilst the market is still on, what is there to do after the 15th?
Whilst we are of course sad that you can't make the market, there's still so much to do in Bath including our Heritage sites, ice-skating, glow-in-the-dark golf and more! You can find out what's on at Christmastime here.
